Institute of Arts and Society, Experimental Game Cultures
2026S, artistic Seminar (SEK), 2.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S02593
Description
The theory and practice of artistic research deal with specific approaches to art, society, cultures and epistemic things - in short: ludic objects! Their aims are presented in playful formats or discuss such approaches to making things public. In this seminar, individual artistic research projects will be discussed and debated with the doctoral students. The aim is to recognize the significance of the artistic research approach in the arts. Based on individual questions and a review of the current state of artistic research theories, participants will develop individual concepts for developing their own artistic research approaches. We refer to concepts of the ludic, i.e. transversal thinking and free play as a method. Artistic research objectives will be formulated partly fictitiously, presented in playful formats and made public in exchange processes. The methods of artistic research include - in a structural coupling - contradictions, a fun science and an associative memory game.
