Description

The course ZKF – Conservation and Restoration Practice / Individual Artistic Instruction forms the core of the conservation and restoration program at the University of Applied Arts. Attendance is mandatory (Anwesenheitspflicht).

It teaches a systematic, methodical approach to practical conservation and restoration. The practical work is supplemented by targeted theoretical input, practical exercises, and self-study. 

In the first two semesters, first-year students (our “freshmen”) explore all areas of the program in order to gain as broad an insight as possible into the various specialization options (orientation year).

Examination Modalities

The following will be assessed:

- Practical performance (ongoing)

- Written documentation (at the end of the semester)

- Final oral presentation (at the end of the semester)

- Initiative in self-study (ongoing)

- Active participation in class meetings (twice a month)

- Communication and critical reflection (ongoing)

Classes take place every Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
