The Translation I course focuses on one's own artistic and creative practice. Based on this, approaches, ideas, considerations for their communication, and possible methods for doing so are developed, discussed, and continuously documented. Furthermore, the course examines general subject-specific topics such as the curriculum (vocational, middle school, upper secondary school, secondary school, high school), classrooms and subject-specific conditions, materials, equipment, safety, grading, lesson planning, and other subject-specific components. The school setting is examined as a didactic teaching space.

Research question: How can machines be investigated, adapted, invented, and constructed, and how can educational, career, and life orientation (overarching theme according to BMB 2025) be conveyed through the associated processes?

40% active participation, interim presentations (documentation of artistic and design work and work steps)
60% written contribution per seminar paper of 15,000 characters including timeline. Consisting of the following sections (all relevant to the course topic):
○ Cover sheet
○ Table of contents
○ Introduction & description of the process & course relevance (idea, concept, project, lesson plan, methods, materials, etc.)
○ Annual plan (with lesson plans)
○ Teaching concept
○ Worksheet
○ Lesson plan (including subject-specific didactic reserves)
○ Lesson preparation and follow-up
○ Field trip plan
○ Conclusion (including documentation and subject-specific didactic contextualization, embedding, and reflection on the ideas for teaching the work)
○ Sources
○ Appendices

For a positive overall assessment, both sections (collaboration/interim presentation and written contribution) must be successfully completed.

Last possible submission date: February 28, 2026

Submissions after the last possible submission date cannot be considered; the seminar must be repeated.

1) Attendance of the Introduction to Subject Didactics course in advance is strongly recommended; 15 students can be admitted to the course. We apologize for the inconvenience and refer to the alternative course offering.
2) The course can be attended parallel to the Orientation Internship (OP).
3) Consistent attendance (maximum three excused absences). If more than three absences occur, the course must be repeated.
4) If the submission deadline cannot be met due to health or other personal reasons, an email must be sent to the course instructor by the last possible submission date. Only in this case can a grace period of 14 days be granted.
