2025W, künstlerisches Seminar (SEK), 4.0 ECTS, 4.0 SemStd., LV-Nr. S05778
Beschreibung
co-teaching together with Gabriela Urrutia Reyes
Künstlerische Projektarbeit | 4.0 ECTS | LV-Nr. S05780
In this seminar, we engage with resistance, representation, and critical narratives. We focus on self-historicizing exhibition practices and storytelling as a queer-feminist, post-migrant method of art production and expanded knowledge dissemination, centering on the ways narratives shape our understanding of history, memory, and belonging. This semester, we will engage deeply with A Glossary of Haunting by Eve Tuck and C. Ree, and counter archives using haunting as a framework to examine histories of joy, care, violence, dispossession, and resistance that persist in the present.
The collective MUSMIG advocates for a Museum of Migration in Austria. Since 2024, MUSMIG has set up its base in Vienna’s Otto-Wagner-Areal at the invitation of the Volkskundemuseum Wien. As a seminar group, we will develop together a glossary that centers questions:
How could storytelling be an instrument for breathing, resistance, mattering, bringing the living and non-living?
How can storytelling support an ephemeral museum?
Whose stories are being told, and how?
How can post-migrant stories and self-empowering aesthetic practices gain more visibility and space?
How can storytelling unsettle dominant narratives and create space for silenced or marginalized voices?
To what extent is the re-telling of history connected to transformative processes in critical art and cultural education?
How can activism and protest be archived?
Prüfungsmodalitäten
Regular critical participation (min 80 percent); development and presentation of the glossary, participation in KKP Forum on the 24.11.2025.
