Team Skills

Institute of Arts and Society, Social Design
2025W, Lecture (VO), 1.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S05698
Description
What does interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary or post-disciplinary teamwork mean? How can collective work fail better or even succeed? Do we have to let go of our preconceived notions for the benefit of group projects? What is a good idea? How can we accept that we and others have an expertise? How do we best contribute to projects with our own background? What is the charming comfort of hierarchies - and why should we ever leave it?
Team Skills will pose a lot of questions and stumble upon answers for others. In a series of hands-on lectures, we will collectively fail with micro-group-projects, find out what is productive about it and playfully explore transdisciplinarity.
The course strongly connects to real life projects of Social Design alumni and collective spaces in Vienna, that demonstrate strengths, weaknesses and possible potentials of teamwork.
Examination Modalities
Participation in 4 out of 5 sessions, active collaboration, development of tasks in team constellations, reflexion
