Artistic Technology / Digital Knitting
KNIT LAB

This course offers an experimental approach to digital knitting with an electronic knitting machine. Together with artist Veronika Persché, students will develop their own patterns and transform them directly into knitted pieces.
The focus is on artistic textile design, exploring machine possibilities, and a hands-on, research-oriented pattern development.
Work is done both analog (sketches, pattern cards) and digital (software-supported). No previous knowledge required – ideal for students without textile experience.

To complete the course and earn ECTS credits, students must:

• attend all scheduled sessions
• actively participate in the process
• submit a digital project documentation at the end of the semester:
• 1–3 photos  of the knitted work (Process and final work)
• PDF incl. full name, project title & a short description of the concept

Grading is based on creativity, technical use, and the overall artistic quality of the final work.

This course is offered in a compact, blocked format.
