Beschreibung

1th years:

Collaborative Exhibition Making

This bi-weekly, hands-on course supports first-year ArtScience students in collaboratively creating the yearly exhibition. Through active participation in committees: Project Management, Curatorial, Technical, and PR/Graphic. You will conceptualise, plan, develop, and execute the exhibition while also exhibiting your own artwork.

The course combines practical workshops, brainstorming sessions, and feedback rounds to focus on:

  • Shaping the exhibition’s concept, title, and design.
  • Organising the process
  • Writing artist bios, artwork descriptions, and technical riders.
  • Planning and creating installations and curatorial approaches.
  • Preparing PR materials and exhibition texts.
  • Coordinating tasks, schedules, and workflows both within committees and with the exhibiting artists to ensure smooth collaboration.

You’ll also work hands-on with models and the exhibition space, conduct tests, and prepare the side program. Milestones will be presented in the roundtable as part of Project Work I. This course is mandatory when you are also part of Project Work I & II. Attendance and participation are tracked.

By the end of the course, you will have contributed to a curated exhibition, completed your artwork, and gained experience in the practical and collaborative aspects of exhibition-making.

Art&Science Forum

This bi-weekly course offers a shared space for 2+ year Art&Science students to stay connected. It supports the ongoing development of each student’s trajectory within the MA Art & Science by focusing on questions, process dilemmas, shared learning, and dialogue across disciplines. Students can use the space to reflect on their work-in-progress / master project development, exchange with peers, or bring in topics they want to think through together.

The content and structure of the sessions are co-developed with the students and may include thematic discussions, skill-sharing, or the planning of collaborative events such as a mini-symposium or exhibition. Students are invited to support one another’s development by sharing expertise, offering feedback, and proposing sessions based on their current interests.

The course invites students to reflect on the field of Art&Science through informal discussion and peer exchange. Sessions offer space to explore broader questions such as what Art&Science means today, how different ways of knowing intersect or clash, and how this plays out in their own practices, depending on the direction the group takes.

Attendance and participation are tracked, and students enrol under the credited course Collaborative Exhibition Making. This course is an optional continuation for second-year students and beyond.
