Supervised scientific work with individual focus areas within the framework of a dissertation (Dr. phil.). The aim of the doctoral program is to contribute to the development of conservation sciences through guided but independently conducted research.

Particular attention is paid to critical issues that are highly relevant to the present day (e.g., climate protection and sustainability, cultural property protection and security, decolonizing collections, digital heritage and/or software conservation, new materialism, conservation management plans, modern and postmodern architecture conservation, intercultural research collaborations, queering conservation, conservation activism, and much more).
