Making a movie is a manipulative game.

We explore the communication between visual design, camera work, sound design, the editing and colour grading. Together, these elements shape the rhythm of a narrative.

We will work on different projects that focus on the central question: What do I want to tell – and how do I take the audience with me on this journey?

The art lies in finding ways to evoke the right feeling. There are many ways to try, to discard, to reassemble, shake things up again, make mistakes without restraint and reinvent. How can we guide the audience’s visual and emotional perception?

My name is Cordula Werner, I am working as a film editor for many years across different fields. Starting with music videos and commercials, moving on to TV series, cinema documentaries and cinema feature films.

80% attendance. Creation of several projects.

Teaching and learning methods:

*Lectures with media support to show the variety of methods used in the field
*Practical experience through field trips to professional companies
*Joint development of project ideas
*Individual and group presentations of some self-created projects.
