2025W, Lecture with Practical Exercises (VU), 3.0 ECTS, 3.0 semester hours, course number S03464
Description
Design a concept for an app that shows and exposes a Bias.
Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about certain groups of people that individuals form outside their conscious awareness. Since large language models (LLMs) are mainly fed with human data, they are also biased, with an increasing effect on society.
- In the course, we design a simple App following the design thinking process
- We use and discuss new AI tools
- We try out fresh and playful approaches to UI/UX design.
- Every student develops a small digital prototype of a playful app following the design thinking process
- Students can work with a prototyping tool of choice (most likely Figma)
- no coding skills are needed; we produce clickdummies only.
The course is for Students interested in Interface design (UI/UX) and Gamification
In the course, we will receive input and support from a guest expert in AI.

80%+ Presence at the weekly meetings is mandatory.
Every Student presents an interactive click dummy at the end of the Semester which is graded.
