The flag as a national, political, religious, or commercial symbol and its interpretation in contemporary art.

The theme of the flag offers a wide range of possibilities for conceptual artistic interpretation. We use familiar visual strategies to arrive at individual or collective manifestos. In the first semester, a block introduction covers everything from medieval heraldry to contemporary art. In the summer semester, we move on to individual artistic realization and jointly develop a format that is visible to the public.

The course lasts two semesters and culminates in an exhibition in June 2026. Attendance, active participation and the development of an individual artistic work are taken into account for grading. Participation in the planning and organization of the exhibition is also part of the course.
