Description
The course extends over two semesters.
In the winter term (part 1), we start with the basics: What is typography and where do we encounter it? We discuss terminology, classifications/genres, legibility, rhythm, font selection—both theoretically and by means of small exercises and presentations.
The aim is to develop an analog typeface design that will serve as the basis for the design of a digital text font in the summer term.
Examination Modalities
The mark will be an accumulation of attendance, contribution, learning curve and the eventual outcome.
Comments
Number of participants is limited. Course will be held in German.
Technical requirements: basic knowledge in MacOs and own MacBook; Glyph's license is provided for the duration of the course.
