Description
The seminar is designed to enable students to independently carry out projects in the SoundArtLab (https://base.uni-ak.ac.at/showroom/daqwrDhz5egmRzuDbvbqo7/) of the digital art department.
In addition to the option of adding sound to videos and films, the SoundArtLab also features a 20-channel Ambisonic system. Furthermore, the studio is equipped with a Dante network that is currently configured to connect to every room in the digital art department and the Kassenhalle. This also makes it possible to stream 360-degree ambisonic sound.
If required, the entire building of the Postsparkasse can be used as a recording studio.
In addition to the technical introduction, there will be an overview of historical Artwork that were composed for several rooms, e.g. stockhausen's musik für ein Haus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musik_f%C3%BCr_ein_Haus).
The aim of this seminar is for each student to create an individual environment for themselves in the SoundArtlAb and for a collaborative project to be created in which the system of acoustically networked rooms is used.
Examination Modalities
At least 80% attendance and creation of an artistic project alone or in a group on the topic
