Description
The objective of the lecture is to collectively develop fundamental theories, principles and approaches for understanding various aspects of the complex relationship between us and our device-based everyday technology.
By means of examples, discussion and practical exercises some of the following topics will be developed:
• Sociology and psychology of technology
• Types of machines and their evolution
• Digital systems; Stratification; Interconnection
• Machine learning and the Nooscope
• Fundamental principles of interaction; Interface design
• Digital services; Manipulative and harmful design
Examination Modalities
For the successful completion of the course the following criteria will be used:
• Constant and punctual participation (min. 80% attendance)
• Submission and presentation of exercise results (50% of the grade)
• Active participation in the discussion (50% of the grade)
