2025S, lecture series (RV), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S05474
This lecture series showcases the political questions that film studies scholars who work at or are associate with Angewandte are currently engaging with. In the 2025 summer term, lectures will focus on: anthropomorphism in films about plants, curating and exhibiting moving images, the politics of streaming platforms recommendations, thinking filmic language as formal and material through the theme of contamination, and working in cinema collectives. The lectures will address how thinking with and alongside film can enrich crizical thinking about relevant categories of difference, like gender and racialization.
All lectures are open to everyone who wishes to listen. Students are welcome to book the lecture series as a course for credit. Please register online (until 10 March) if you wish to do so. To get a grade for this class, you will have to take a written exam on 16 June, 2025.
