This course is based on the course in the winter term 2024/2025, but new students are still welcome. This semester, sonic fictions for urban spaces will be designed. The mobile sound lab of the University of Applied Arts (https://aesr-lab.uni-ak.ac.at/labs/) will be used for this aim.

Sonic Fiction is an intermedial improvisation course based on the research area ‘sonic fiction’. Sonic fiction knows three key terms: mythscience, mixollogical and mutantxture ‘mutantextures emerging out of mythscience and mixillogic’. (Schulze, 2020, p. 35)

In this course, sonic fiction will be applied to all possible media in an interdisciplinary way. The aim is to produce an interdisciplinary (appeal to all departments of the applied) performative sound-based action in urban situations with the mobile sound lab of the applied.

80% attendance and participation in a project in which the mobile sound lab of the Angewandte is included.
