Performative Practice: Dialogue between Repetition and Creative Redefinition

In this course, we will experimentally examine the concepts of Reenactment, Instruction and Score and as artistic strategies in contemporary performance art. Based on various reference examples, we will together strive for the attempt to reinterpret past performances and place them in an altered temporal and spatial context within the framework of social happenings.

The course invites all its interested students to take a closer look at existing performance works, to develop their own performance works and to exchange these in the group. The aim is not to achieve perfection, but to create a non-judgemental, playful field of experimentation in which the collective, creative exchange of the group is the main focus.

Regular participation in the seminar with active participation in discussions and mutual feedback, participation in practical exercises, submission of a short written concept including visualization at the end of the semester.

Access to the seminar only for students of the Angewandte and/or another art university! Limited number of places!
