In cooperation with the AERS Lab and the Phonogrammarchiv , the seminar Sounding Research will take place in the summer semester in blocks in the week from 20 May to 22 May 2025 at the Expositur Rustenschacherallee 2 - 4, A-1020.
On three consecutive days in May, the participating students will have the opportunity to gain in-depth, practical and content-related experience on the practice of field recordings, as well as on ethical, legal and technical issues of interview and recording techniques, and to learn about the background of the Phonogrammarchiv with a focus on methods and techniques of field recording.
On Thursday 22nd May we will attend lectures by Annie Goh and Marc Peter Wright, organised by the AERS Lab. The lectures will frame the seminar and give an insight into artistic practice with field recordings.
