In the last four years, this course has engaged with various formats: publication, lectures, exhibitions making, and performance. 

The focus of this year - Winter and Summer Semester - is on working with and through film in relation to questions of self-representation, agency, and public visibility, at the intersection of the individual memory and the collective history. 

During the Winter Semester, the group engaged with various filmic practices in dialogue with guests (filmmakers and videomakers, curators, technicians).

The goal was to deepen knowledge on the various strategies that can be developed and implemented with and through moving image as an artistic practice.

This exploration conducted during the Winter semester culminates with a film program curated collectively by the group and to be screened at Mumok Kino in March 2025.

The Summer Semester will be devoted to the production of filmic works by members of the group that will be shown in a public screening at Mumok Kino in June 2025.

Course Goals:


• to introduce and support students with the production of artistic strategies with and through film and video
• to develop knowledge on filmic practices at the intersection with social and historical dynamics
• to foster critical thinking, self-critical thinking, and communication skills

• to introduce, encourage, and develop collective practices
