Urban Change

Against the backdrop of climate change and the confluence of related global challenges we will have to rethink future urban development in social, cultural, economic and environmental dimensions. Based on the assumption that we will not be able to meet the goals set by the Paris agreement we will develop and discuss strategies of climate change adaptation. We will visualize climate impacts at a scale and resolution that is accessible to various stakeholders. We will work on a variety of scenarios as a form of long-term strategic planning specific to the design disciplines. We will create representations of plausible climate impacts to allow for informed decision-making in the present.

 

Research by Design: Special Topics in Architecture focuses on the theoretical and practical implementation of interdisciplinary research strategies into the design process.
