This predominantly practical second part of the course is dedicated to the historical painting technique of tempera and oil painting in particular: priming wooden panels, underpainting with self-primed tempera paints, building up layers of paint with opaque to glazing oil paints, applying varnish.
The aim of the teaching activity is to enable students to recognize and practically understand the technical structure of a historical painting, a painting in general.

The practical work during the seminar and the final result of the “painting technique copy” serve to assess this seminar.
