Institute of Fine Arts and Media Art, Site Specific Art
2024W, artistic Seminar (SEK), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S05475
This seminar explores the intersections between body, space, and technology within the context of site-specific art. Drawing on principles of performance and digital arts, participants will engage in a reflective process that examines how bodies interact with physical and digital spaces. The course encourages experimentation involving the dynamic relationship between performer, visitor, and space, as well as critical analysis of the ways in which technological dispositives transform the experience of place and reconfigure those interactions.
Objectives:
Stimulate critical reflection on technological dispositive and their influence on performativity and the spaces in which they operate; Explore the creation of performative fragments connected to specific sites, with the aim of fostering the development of a personal artistic language, whether it be installative, sculptural, video-, sound-, or event-based; Contribute to the artistic process of site-specific works that question the relationships between body, space, and simple, accessible technologies.
Methodology:
Theoretical discussions on the interactions between body, space, and technology; Practical exercises designed to experiment with both conceptual and concrete approaches, connected to performative dispositive rooted in real and media spaces; Creation of performative sketches based on the specificity of a site, utilizing both analog and technological dispositive, which will be presented to the group for critical feedback.
