Description
MicroMacroVideo is an interdisciplinary course that explores the convergence of science, art, and technology through visualization in video productions. The course invites students to examine the world at both microscopic and macroscopic levels, using tools such as smartphone clip-on microscopes, thermal imaging cameras, and video editing software. Participants will learn to document, analyze, and artistically interpret the hidden aspects of their surroundings, capturing phenomena invisible to the naked eye and presenting them in compelling visual narratives.
Through a hands-on project, students will explore a range of topics from biological structures and environmental changes to abstract textures and temperature shifts. This course emphasizes the interplay between observation and creativity, encouraging students to push the boundaries of traditional video art and science visualization.
Location: Science Visualization Lab, Georg-Coch-Platz 2, 1.OG, Raum 111 (to be reached via room 112 "Electronic Lab")
Examination Modalities
Regular attendance, reliable communication and a short video piece to be submitted.
