Description

This course provides a general understanding of South asian Art and culture, with a focus on Nepal. It covers topics related to meaning and concept of Iconography of  Deities, their chief features of Iconography, Origin and Development of Buddhist Art and various art Schools, Iconography of Selected Deities (Hindu and Buddhist deities). The course also provieds an overview about the different types of Buddhists Art and Architecture in Nepal, also covering  the history, development and various mediums of sculptures and paintings in Nepali art
