Using examples of recent artistic practices, we will consider and discuss theoretical and production-related aspects of stone as a material in various visual art media.

From the unworked boulder to the stone object produced with the help of robot milling, we will go step by step through the basic production conditions and production techniques of stone and analyze how these are inscribed in the intentions of artistic work.

In the summer semester, a workshop lasting several days is planned to teach the basics of stone processing and give students the opportunity to work in stone themselves. The number of participants in the summer semester is limited. Students who take part in the course in the winter semester will be given priority for participation in the summer semester.
