Institute of Architecture, Architectural Design 3
2024W, scientific seminar (SEW), 3.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S03943

Description

The course aims at students interested in the acoustic impact and auditory perception of the built environment. It provides knowledge of sound generation and sound propagation fundamentals and enables one to understand and influence the possible auditory effects at an early design phase. Additional topics include the impact of sound on humans and potential strategies for reducing noise, explicitly concentrating on acoustic materials, their sound absorption properties, and their practical application.
