From the idea to the exhibition - approaches to the painted image.
The lecture gives an introduction to historical and contemporary objectives of painting and related technical approaches. In the practical part of the course, the application of those techniques aims not only to enhance the painterly repertoire of the students, but also to reflect their individual artistic practices and the possibilities of expression within the medium.
The course follows a chronological structure, taking the steps that are crucial in the creation of a painting: the initial idea, approaching it by sketches, selection of a picture medium and adequate technique, realization, completion, its critical reflection and presentation.
Examination Modalities
Participation in activities of the class, presentation of a specific painting technique and of a semester project
