Content: The course serves as preparation for the Conservation Teaching Workshop in Vienna. The main aim is students individually preparing a project paper on an assigned topic in conservation practice. Topics will be assigned in the first lecture. Students will afterwards prepare a comprehensive literature research and a presentation on their topic, which will be incorporated in the workshop in July/August 2024. Progress and content of students' individual work will be discussed in meetings with the supervisor. The course also addresses academic writing practice and citation rules of the Institute of Conservation.

Aim: Students are prepared for their teaching activity in the course of the Conservation Teaching Workshops. They can prepare a selected topic from the field of conservation for a teaching unit to peers / other students using theoretical presentations and practical demonstration.

Examination modalities:

Regular attendance (at least 80% presence)

Active participation in discussions

Individual work (literature research, presentation, final paper/handout)
