Caroline Heider
Design, Applied Photography and Time-Based Media
2024S, Vorlesung und Übungen (VU), 1.0 ECTS, 1.0 semester hours, course number S05177

Description

Hands on! In this course, we work with studio lighting and the department's recording equipment. In practice-oriented units, students take pictures and film in the studios of the department and in the multimedia studio.

Recording technology is a product of human invention and it is anything but neutral and objective.  After the use of the apparatus, we will discuss and explore the biases and gender attributions inherent in technology, initiated by impulse lectures by Caroline Heider; please  see also the current project FOTOTECHNIK A.

Module 1 includes working with continuous light (HMI, LED, halogen from Arri, Apurture), Blackmagic and Panasonic.

Module 2 includes working with flash (Profoto, Hensel, Briese), Nikon D810 and your own cameras.

Examination Modalities

Course-immanent. Cooperation. 80% attendance in persona.
