2024S, Projektarbeit (PA), 10.0 ECTS, 4.0 semester hours, course number S05170

Description

The success of cross-disciplinary practices crucially depends on a number of factors. Developing appropriate and productive frameworks for the fruitful encounter of epistemologically distinct approaches (with respect to specific themes) is one of them. Another, equally important aspect, is the elaboration of methodologically sound (and supportive) structures tailored towards individual cross-disciplinary projects. Finally, work across various disciplines requires the active creation of multi-perspectival settings that are both critical and conscious of their own, sometimes vexed positionality.

In the Master CDC Lab, we want to practically examine these factors. The emphasis lies on the step-by-step development of students’ individual projects, both with respect to their theoretical underpinnings and their prospective practical implementations. Not only will the Lab provide a meeting ground for the various disciplinary strands and vectors at work within particular project designs, but it will also discuss successful and outstanding examples of interdisciplinary cooperation. Furthermore, it will attempt to encourage and support project outlines with respect to larger transformational contexts, such as ongoing digitalization, questions of sustainability, increasing societal fragmentation and cultural diversity.
