This course is aimed at students with sufficient experience in textile screen printing and a deeper interest in fiber-related dyes.

Using small projects, printing with fiber-affinous dyes, vat, reactive and acid dyes, on natural fibers is taught.

Preparation of printing pastes for silk and wool prints, printing on cotton, cotton velvet and linen, as well as fabric painting. Printing, painting, fixing and washing, as well as etching on cotton, linen and silk.

Effect printing pastes, two adhesives are used, for small glass bodies and for foils.

The creative implementation of design concepts is evaluated after a previous examination of the existing technical possibilities, as well as the commitment in the implementation and the oral presentation of the entire project.

Finally, a digital image of the project with the associated documentation must be sent as a PDF to ute.huber-leierer@uni-ak.ac.at
