As part of the course, students developed concepts for their own sound art research projects in WS23, which will now be put into practice in SS24 with the ÆSR Lab - mobile laboratory. In the summer semester 2024, the focus will therefore be on the realisation and implementation of the conceived projects.

In order to make the projects possible, in addition to teaching and referring to current and historical developments and trends in the field of artistic research and practice with sound (and the associated literature), technical infrastructure is provided and practical skills and abilities for creating installative, auditory and visual forms of presentation are taught.

The lecture is part of the ÆSR Lab - Applied/Experimental Sound Research Laboratory. ÆSR Lab is a cooperation project of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Centre Focus Research) and the Artistic Research Center (ARC), the Institute for Composition, Electroacoustics and Tonmeister:innen-Ausbildung (IKE) of the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. ÆSR Lab is funded by the BMBWF and in co-operation with the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of the EU.
