Description

Protest / Architecture

Comments on the exhibition at the MAK

(Open for students of all faculties – A self-guided visit to the exhibition BEFORE the seminar begins is a necessary requirement for participation)

The exhibition "Protest/Architecture" (from February 14 at the MAK, opening on February 13 at 7 pm) shows the architectural and spatial manifestations of thirteen protest movements between 1968 and 2023, as well as a broad spectrum of other spatialized protests.

But what does it leave out?

What blind spots have crept into the exhibition, where should/could/must something be commented on or added?

And how is it possible to intervene in an existing exhibition with comments and corrections?

The two-part block seminar with Oliver Elser, the curatorial director of the Protest/Architecture exhibition, will use a workshop format to create the actual comments to be included in the exhibition and discuss their effect on site at the MAK.

PLEASE VISIT THE EXHIBITION AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE THE START OF THE WORKSHOP AND WORK OUT AN OPINION ON WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO COMMENT ON, CRITICIZE OR ADD. THE WORKSHOP BEGINS WITH YOU PRESENTING YOUR POSITION.
