Content: The workshop is a unique format, specially designed for this Joint Master Programme "Cultural Heritage Conservation and Management". It is attended by all students of the programme and takes place in the conservation studios of the Institute of Conservation. Students work on conservation practice projects together: All projects involve a technical survey, condition report, discussion of concept and measures and its practical execution, and a photographic and written documentation.

In addition, excursions to sites, museums and storages in Vienna are held; dates are arranged at the beginning of the workshop.

Aim: Training hands-on skills in the various areas of practical conservation, presentation of work progress and discussion of methodological approaches with peers and instructor.

Examination Modalities:

Regular attendance (at least 80% presence)

Active participation in discussions

Active participation in conservation practice

Written report including technical survey, condition report, conservation concept and documentation
