2024S, Lecture and Discussion (VD), 2.0 ECTS, 2.0 semester hours, course number S04482

Building upon skills acquired in the first term, this course deepens the students’ understanding of the human rights of specific groups and selected human rights from a multidisciplinary perspective. These include, for example, the right to life, to personal liberty, to privacy, to equality and non-discrimination, to health, to education, as well as freedom of the arts.

Students will learn about these rights in the framework of international and regional legal protection, analyse key historical developments and main challenges to their successful protection and implementation.

For their assessment, students will be asked to submit and present a short paper about a selected human right or a specific group.
