Beschreibung

This course explores fundamentals for building creative prototypes to answer artistic research questions, developing ideas further by using up-to-date game development techniques and interfacing your projects with other technologies.

Some concepts that will be covered include: 2D, basic artificial Intelligence, basic multiplayer (local), animated 3d models,...

This course is a continuation of the Experimental Game Engines class of the winter semester 2023/24. You can attend if you haven't taken the first seminar but the following concepts should be clear to you:

Basic navigation of the Unity3D Engine
Concepts: Triggers, Player Input, Rigidbodies, Prefabs, Instantiation
Basic knowledge of C#

The language of the course will be English, although assistance may be provided in German if necessary.

Please be aware: currently, registrations from students of "Experimental Game Cultures" program will be prioritized.

 

Prüfungsmodalitäten

Constant and punctual participation (min. 70% attendance)

A working build of your prototype made with Unity3D 2022 covering 5 technical concepts from the seminar. Presentation of the question of your prototype & concepts at the final class.

Pre-Installation of the latest version of Unity3D 2022.3 LTS

Laptop with hardware capable of running Unity3D
