What is drawing in the digital age - and what can it do? Where does it begin and where does it end?

These questions and their relevance will be discussed in the context of contemporary art, as well as practically and intuitively examined. Building on a media-theoretical discussion of current developments in image production (A.I. / Photoshop / Procreate), drawing will be explored as an artistic medium in the digital age. How "analog" does it remain despite everything - and is that even important?

Within workshops, digital and analog tools will be explored experimentally and practical skills in the use of computer-aided drawing, 3D printing and pen plotters will be taught. The artistic results - whether digital and/or analog - are discussed in the group at the end of the project and presented in a group exhibition.

BASIS FOR ASSESSMENT:

The grade will be based on a combination of the following:

1) Willingness to discuss, attendance and participation during the course.
2) Presentation of a project at the end of the semester
3) Participation in the group exhibition.
