Description

Who is "The Audience"? And is it even the right term? Should it instead be the public or publics? Or are terms such as visitors, viewers, spectators, participants, communities - to name but a few other terms – more apt? What is the role of "The Audience" and what is expected of it by whom? How do artists, curators and institutions address their audiences? What are their strategies and are they working? And what does "The Audience" expect, of which we are also a part of?

In the context of mostly art institutions, these lectures will look thematically at various topics surrounding “The Audience” on the basis of artistic and curatorial practice.

Examination Modalities

Attendance (min 80%) and an oral examination at the end of the semester.

Comments
