Description

Applied dyeing and finishing techniques on textile raw materials and products, Dyeing with natural fabrics/ Natural dyeing, costume painting and costume editing;

In the Department of Textile Technology – Dyeing – a wide variety of dyeing processes can be used in practice under professional guidance. This refers to a wide variety of reservation techniques (batik, etc.) Gradient dyes, multi-color effects, partial staining up to fabric painting, surface treatment, patination and refinement of fabrics. In some cases, technologies from printing, painting and dyeing merge. Textile painting and costume processing: the painting, processing and patination of a wide variety of materials and surfaces with a wide range of colorants - from shoes to headgear and accessories - completes the offer of the workshop.

In collegial individual supervision, students can realize their coloristic ideas and artistic concepts with professional help in theory and practice.

In addition, this academic year there will be a lecture on "Costume painting, costume dyeing and costume editing" as well as 3 workshops on specific topics such as "Costume dyeing, costume painting and editing", "Dyeing with natural dyes" and "Dyeing with synthetic dyes – basics".

Examination Modalities

The artistic implementation of design concepts after prior examination of the existing technical possibilities, as well as the commitment in the implementation and the oral presentation of the entire project are evaluated.

The dyeing workshop is open every Friday between 9:00 and 17:00 throughout the academic year (except VL-free times) in the Department of Textile Technology, Salzgries 14 ground floor

In the case of individual supervision of projects, an initial interview is required for organizational reasons, whereby the idea (draft) and the necessary material must be brought along.
