In the seminar, we will use various processing techniques (such as cutting/seaming, folding, creating structures, tensioning) to explore the wide range of ways in which textiles work in order to relate them to our spatial ideas and needs.

Taking individual needs into account, the possibility of creating space goes hand in hand with the need to negotiate space. From private to public, from conceptual to material: how can we organize spaces that invite people to come together? We will explore this question in the seminar through artistic research. In doing so, we will use various forms of collaboration and co-creation to promote processes in which new questions and innovations arise.

In addition to the lab units (sewing studio/applied), we will dock at various places to apply processes (workshop with popticum/Berlin), test spatial situations (WUK project room), obtain knowledge (experts) and illuminate performative processes (APL /applied). From this we develop concepts and models from body shells to textile spatial elements to independent micro-architectures. We research specific properties of textiles: whether flexible, temporary/ephemeral or body-related, from dense to permeable... the textile medium offers a variety of possibilities for developing responsive spatial formations.

Wird das Seminar als IT Seminar mit künstlerischer Bachelorarbeit besucht, 
wird die künstlerische Projektarbeit im Rahmen der kommissionellen Bachelorprüfungen präsentiert

Die Lehrveranstaltung findet teilweise geblockt statt!

Das künstlerisches Seminar Fläche / Körper / Raum ist eine Kombination aus Künstlerische Projektarbeit, LV-Nr. S03055 und Technologien/Praxen, LV-Nr. S03056. Eine Anmeldung zum Seminar ist daher in beiden Anteilen vorzunehmen!
