Description

There will be regular lectures on

climate, thermal behaviour of buildings, thermal comfort, moisture in buildings, daylight supply, airborne noise and impact noise as well as room acoustics.

Chapters are:

1 Energy, 2 Heat Transfer, 3 Humidity, 4 Climate, 5 Daylighting, 6 Sound, 7 Acoustics

Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are introduced in the winter semester.

In the summer semester, Chapters 1 to 5 are deepened and introduced in Chapters 6, 7.

Examination Modalities

For those who need the grades to complete their Bachelor:
You will be provided a catalogue of questions. Work out all questions.
In an oral exam, you will be asked questions from each chapter of the semester.

For those who need the grades as a regular architectural science seminar in the Master:
Try to work out all questions and bring the answers with you to the exam. Deepen any chapter, field or question you are interested in. Write a short essay, 3 pages A4 per ECTS.

Comments

Originally, this course was intended for those students who lacked knowledge of building physics in the admission letter. Due to the lively interest, it is now also possible to take building physics in the master's degree as an architectural science.
