Urban Strategies Integration provides a framework for articulating and deepening an urban aspect of the pre-diploma project. In individual meetings, students are guided through the process of formulating and testing a hypothesis by anchoring their reasoning in urban discourses on a relevant focus of their choice.

Note: Individual projects do not have to tackle large-scale urban designs in order to integrate urban strategies. However, it is necessary that the pre-diploma project – regardless of size – addresses an urban problem clearly and consciously in order to be able to integrate it into the project argumentation accordingly.

Continuous assessment during the development of the work. Written /visual essay, weighted in accordance to individual projects.

The course is offered for architecture students in their pre-diploma semester only. It is recommended that students already succesfully concluded one of the seminars offered at the Urban Strategies department during their studies.

A collective preliminary meeting will be scheduled at the beginning of the semester and with sufficient time after studio-kick offs to reflect on the respective semester-topics. (Date and time TBA once the organization of the semester beginning is settled)

Individual meeting times throughout the semester will be scheduled Wednesdays and Thursday mornings. Booking slots will be accessable via google docs for registered students.
