Intelligent use of resources is essential for a future-oriented building culture. Topics such as reuse, adaptation, modularity, and design for disassembly are addressed, with design and materialization conceptualized in mutual exchange.
This semester we will work with the transformation of an existing vacant building.
After digitization and mapping of potentials, students are asked to developed scenarios for an activation of the given structure.
Participants are asked to work in teams of two.
Continuous assessment in weekly meetings for discussions, and feedback; input lectures, and tutorials.
Deliverables at the end of term:
- workbook (digital) as constant documentation of seminar work
- schematic/strategic proposal in plans, sections, axonometric (1:200, 1:500), diagrams
- Poster exhibition of results coinciding with the Circular Strategies Symposium on 13. - 14.10.2023, (Details tbd)
- Collective site visit at 14.3. (to be confirmed)
- Final presentation with external guests.
- Max. 20 participants
- Priority is given to students in higher semesters and early registrations.
- Team work is encouraged, but individual work is possible if preferred
