Designing a dating platform for intellectually challenged people

People with intellectual disabilities often find meeting and dating new people hard. In addition to logistical challenges, e.g. a lack of mobility, they often get mobbed on platforms like Tinder.

During the HCI course, students design a user experience seeking a fresh and playful approach to designing a dating app for intellectually challenged people.

Every student develops a digital prototype that reflects this problem. Students can work with a prototyping tool of choice they are familiar with; coding knowledge is beneficial. During the course, we invite experts from Caritas familiar with the special needs and heterogeneity of the target group.

The course is for anyone who finished HCI 1 & 2 and is interested in User Experience Design.

At the end of the semester, every studentis asked to present their work as well as a click dummy/prototype which documents their semester work and is to be graded.
