This course is an advanced introduction to typography.
The summer term will focus on ‘macro’ typography and type-setting in print and on-screen.
There will be lectures and presentations as well as practical exercises throughout the semester.

The lectures will cover:
– type-setting for reading / paragraph styles
– choosing and mixing typefaces
– typographic hierarchies
– layouts and formats
– grid systems and breaking them

Content will be type related texts.
Exercises will focus on the quest for the contemporary and the timeless.
