electronic sound basics 1 - theory

This course aims at creating a basic understanding of the physical nature of sound and hearing in general as well as of audio recording and re/production by electronic means.

Contents of the theoretical course will be oriented along students demands and can include:
Explanation of the physical laws and nature of vibration, sound and hearing; Clarification of the process of electrification, digitalization, electronic manipulation and reproduction of sound; Principles of the dispersion and reflection of sound in interiors; Clarification of audio-specific termini like resonance, distortion, etc.

Taking part in the course regularly

The course will be held in german and english as demand applies.

Although it's recommended to take both courses, the theoretical as well as the practical, it's fully possible to go for one of them only.

While the first half of the semester will be focused on theory, skill-building and idea-gathering, the second half will will be centered on production and aim towards a presentation/performance at the closing exhibition of Georg Sturmlechners silkscreening course:
