CONTENT
Critical examination of ornamentation and digital textile techniques (ex.: Visualization of digital cross stitch, ikat fabric, OpArt patterns, kaleidoscope ornament, fashion illustration, etc.). Development of own patterns and ornaments from historical models.

Preparation of designs for screen printing technique. Visit to the textile technology department with a focus on textile screen printing at Salgries. Preparation of designs for digital textile printing and wallpapers (printing at external suppliers) Implementation of several repeats in digital textile printing mandatory!

Microscopy: use of digital microscopes to generate repeats, ornaments, patterns, etc..

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design repeats and patterns.

Special attention will be given in this seminar to both the application for the student's own artistic practice and for the use of digital skills in the classroom.

Intensive seminar, attendance required.
