From the idea to the exhibition - approaches to the painted image

-- Continuation of the lecture in WiSe 22/23 --

The lecture gives an introduction to historical and contemporary objectives of painting and the related technical approaches. In the practical part of the course, the application of those techniques aims not only to enhance the painterly repertoire of the students, but also to reflect the possibilities of representation within the medium, above all in relation to the students' individual practices.

The class follows a chronological structure. In the WiSe we focused on the process of creating a painting, in the SoSe we will work together on the steps to be done with the finished piece: From titles, documentation and writing about a painting to the presentation in a solo- or group exhibition.

The number of participants is limited.

The languages used in the class are German and English.
