Description

[A]FA CONTINUATIONS

In the last decade [A]FA has developed a wide range of projects. Understanding that these require care to maintain their precense, performance and to push their potentials, [A]FA CONTINUATIONS focuses on re-engaging with the APAM APATA, the NEW GUABULIGA MARKET, and NUBUKE WA in close collaboration with the respective project partners and stakeholders.

In the Winterterm 2022/23, [A]FA CONTINUATIONS has been dedicated to the  APATA, APAM GHANA. A small team of selected students  jointly worked on an assesment of the current status of the bamboo structure. In addition, hands-on measures were conducted and further design steps have started to strengthen the project architecturally, and thereby the operational potentials of the Haduwa Arts Culture Institute in Apam, Ghana. The onsite lab in February 2023 was structured with three foci: CARING, EXPERIMENTING, and PLANNING.

This summer semester 2023 the same group of students will concentrate on the PLANNING of future facilities around the APAM APATA in close collaboration with the client, the Haduwa Arts & Culture Institute.
