Description

The aim of the course is to convey the basic knowledge required for the use of collaborative robots. In addition to the theoretical content, students learn how to operate and program collaborative robots. The practical exercises are held in the pilot factory of the TU Vienna (Seestadt).

After positive completion of the course students ...

- know the basics about collaborative robots and their fields of application
- are aware of the safety relevant measures
- are able to program a collaborative robot (cobot)
- are able to work safely with a cobot
- are able to use a cobot as a tool for an industrial/educational or other use case

The first lecture, the written test, the exercises as well as the last lecture (presentation of the use cases) will be held in presence (IMW - TU Wien, Theresianumgasse 27, 1040 Vienna). All other lectures will be provided as pre-recorded videos.

Examination Modalities

The assessment consists of the following three parts:

- Exam (40%)
- Exercises in the pilot factory (20%)
- Elaboration and presentation of use case (40%)
